I just heard about this yesterday. I was a physicist who took many courses from Jim and he would tease me relentlessly about what rigour really meant, or how "this would be a proof in physics, but it's not good enough for us".

I can attest to the difficulty of his exams and the length of his classes. Part of it was that he liked to go into the proofs fresh, without really looking them over, so he could have fun in the class. He'd get stuck on a proof of some obscure optical theorem and he would turn to the five of us in class and ask "so some help would be nice, any ideas". I would stare blankly. I never reached the mathematical maturity demanded by Jim until I got into grad school.

I'll miss him too.

Marshall and I both love this song. He has it on his touch. Did you see Justin Tinberlake on SNL as her backup dancer. He was pretty good if you could get past the tights.

A blast from the past! Shakey's was the birthday party standard as I was growing up in PG. They had it all - the player piano, the kitchen viewing window, balloons and, well, pizza. I guess you didn't hear that a few years ago they re-opened a Shakey's in PG. Needless to say, it lasted about as long as your Quesnel location. It too failed to capture the essence of the original. So how did the Boracay version rate?
