Say What???

Well for anyone living in China this might go down as the funniest headline ever!

Beijing aims to cut down smoking for Olympics

Beijing will ban or restrict smoking in most public venues in May as part of its pledge to hold a smoke-free Olympics, local media reported on Monday, citing the city’s legal office.

New legislation to take effect on May 1 will forbid smoking at government offices and on public transport, the Beijing Morning Post said, but falls short of setting outright bans at restaurants, bars and clubs.

When Alice was delivering Carter I was not allowed to go into the delivery room but instead had to wait in the common waiting area with all the other expectant fathers. I remember clear as a bell there were 4 of us but the other 3 (who were Chinese) were sitting under the no smoking sign happily puffing away on their cigs. They were polite enough to offer me one but seeing as we were in the hospital maternity ward I declined the offer.

There are 2 things I can say about the Chinese - they spit and they smoke. They always have and I dare say they always will.
