The Problem
January 23, 2007Dougie Sumo over at Just Be posed a problem the other day which goes like this. Draw a star (with the inner lines) like this one

and then you can draw any 2 straight lines and you must create 10 INDIVIDUAL triangles.
Here is my first attempt that looked so promising but unfortunately it only creates 9.

I can tell you that getting 9 is no closer than the 5 you start with. I have wracked my brains for too many hours trying to do this one and am now stuck in a rut and keep doing the same things over and over again.

Nine little words: I hate you, I hate you, I hate you
I’ve been staring at it for an hour now.

The solution, if you dare… I had this one but must have miscounted - nearly killed me.

I know you hate me but I hate Doug even more for giving it to me. I will not look at the solution cause if you know how much time I put into doing this … well .. its either solve it or never acknowledge it again!
